Donating Physical Items

Your donations directly help asylum seekers by providing essential items they need during their journey.

What We Accept

We accept donations in the following categories:

  • Clothing: Clean, good condition clothing for all ages and genders
  • Household Items: Kitchenware, bedding, towels, small appliances
  • Electronics: Working phones, tablets, laptops (will be refurbished)
  • Toiletries: Unopened hygiene products, personal care items
  • Books & Educational Materials: Language learning, legal guides, children's books
  • Baby Items: Clothing, toys, equipment (must meet safety standards)

Making a Donation

Step 1: Check What We Need

Visit Physical Donations → What We Need to see current priority items.

Step 2: Offer Your Donation

Go to Physical Donations → Offer Donation and fill in the form:

  • Your contact details (name, email, phone)
  • Item category and description
  • Quantity and condition
  • Estimated value (optional)
  • Preferred delivery method (drop-off or collection)

Step 3: Wait for Confirmation

Our team will review your donation offer within 1-2 business days and contact you to arrange:

  • Drop-off: Bring items to our collection point
  • Collection: We'll arrange to collect larger donations

Donation Guidelines

Item Condition

All donated items must be:

  • Clean and in good working condition
  • Free from damage, stains, or excessive wear
  • Safe to use (especially electrical items and toys)

What We Cannot Accept

Unfortunately, we cannot accept:

  • Damaged or broken items
  • Expired food or medicines
  • Dirty or heavily worn clothing
  • Items that don't meet UK safety standards
  • Weapons or dangerous items

Tax Receipts

If you're donating as an organization or require a donation receipt for tax purposes, please indicate this when offering your donation.

Tracking Your Donation

Once we receive your items:

  • You'll receive a confirmation email
  • Your donation is logged in our system
  • Items are distributed to asylum seekers in need
